YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIGHT FOR MENTAL OR PHYSICAL SPACE:
It can be difficult to settle and ground down in a large group setting. Private sessions are exclusive 'Me-time'.
AVOID INJURIES OR WORSENING AN INJURY:
Sometimes our ego gets in the way and we try to keep up with the class and not honoring our limitations. A private session allows for the critical alignment of mind, body, and emotions so we can honor the body you brought to practice that day.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR SERVES YOUR INTENTIONS AND GOALS:
When you're on the yoga mat in a group class, your unique needs and goals may not be understood by the teacher, however, in a private session, your needs and goals are 100% focused on.
GAIN BEGINNER’S EXPERIENCE IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT:
It's really hard to get back to your yoga practice as so many are trying to do post-Covid. Although it truly is 'like riding a bike', and you'll pick it back up in a short period of time, there still may be some mental, physical and emotional blockages that a private session can dissolve.
FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE AND JUDGMENT-FREE:
Even for experienced yogis, some group classes are intimidating, especially if they are new to the sequence or the teacher and the environment, and especially for new or returning practitioners. Having a space where you can get comfortable in your skin will lend itself to you getting back to those group classes sooner than later.
ACCOMMODATE YOUR SCHEDULE:
In a day and age where working from home is more and more commonplace, you may not be able to scoot out when everyone else does. A private session will accommodate your schedule.
ADVANCE THE YOGA SKILLS YOU WANT:
Not everyone wants to stand on their head but actually, many do! If you want to take your yoga practice deeper, a private session is the best choice!
PREPARE FOR BIGGER GROUP CLASSES:
Again, large group classes can be intimidating. When you do not have the basics down, you can feel lost and injury is a key concern for many people who want to make sure they are preparing their bodies for specific poses. Unfortunately, most yoga instructors do not have the opportunity to provide adjustments or assist everyone in the class. Neither do they have the opportunity to discuss what the main difference is between “adjustments” and “assists.”
With private yoga sessions, you are preparing yourself with the best possible foundation for larger group yoga classes. Imagine walking into the room with enough self-confidence to abandon any self-conscious thoughts. You will realize how much more fulfilling each class can be when you are prepared with the right tools and education. Who knows, you might even want to start teaching yoga to your friends and family!
EASILY COMMUNICATE YOUR ANXIETIES, QUESTIONS, AND CONCERNS:
In many yoga classes, you might not feel comfortable speaking with your teacher about any anxieties, questions, or concerns you have. You might need to show up very early or wait after class to speak with them. This is also difficult when you do not have a relationship with the instructor. Most likely you will also need to wait for other people in the studio to speak with your teacher, too.
Private yoga instructors make an effort to find out what your anxieties are about your practice. They might even ask more questions about your Yoga practice than you do! Again, you have control over what you communicate with your private yoga teacher and no stone is unturned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
How many times have you started a 30-day yoga challenge or a physical fitness regimen only to find an excuse halfway or even a quarter way down the line? Listen, committing to any practice can be challenging. Yoga is all about the struggle and we know that struggle is real!
With a private yoga session booked at least once a week, you get dedicated, scheduled time to commit to a practice that will improve your daily life both physically and mentally. Your yoga instructor can even give you digestible homework and other suggestions to make sure you are on top of your self-care game. With accountability, you will get closer to your goals a lot more efficiently than you would without expert help.
IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH:
Yoga is popular amongst fitness enthusiasts for a reason. There are so many benefits to yoga I can dedicate an entire blog post to explaining all of them. All ages and bodies can benefit from yoga, too. If you work at a desk all day or if you work in the manual labor industry, yoga can help to protect your body from chronic pain & injuries. Elongating and strengthening the muscles throughout your body also helps to protect them from deterioration. Countless studies have indicated that yoga can reduce blood pressure, reduce high resting heart rates, strengthen musculature, increase bone density, improve sleep quality, heighten metabolism, and much more! For those with chronic pain, yoga can even help manage physical and mental health challenges. Private yoga can further the benefits by addressing specific health challenges you might experience. Some yoga instructors can even work with your primary care physician to outline concrete steps in your practice.
REDUCE STRESS & ANXIETY:
Many have a lot of trouble managing stress and anxiety. Many don't even know they are dealing with anxiety until they start practicing yoga. Moreover, many recognize that the amount of stress encountered on a daily basis is extremely unhealthy. Yoga classes have been known to trigger anxiety and stress, especially after the commute, parking, and group setting. Private sessions are meant to reduce all the nervousness and anxiety that may come with group settings.
If you have questions about private yoga sessions, let's get together for our complimentary 1st session. These initial first sessions are our gift to you and there is no obligation whatsoever. Email us: hotyogafalmouth@gmail.com
